Today is Knabenschiessen in Zurich. If you are not Swiss, you are probably not familiar with it. Knabenschiessen is a traditional target shooting competition in Zurich, which is held on the second weekend of September each year. The Monday is a half official public holiday for Zurich in that a lot of the businesses and all the schools close for the afternoon of the day.

Switzerland does not have a social or government run health insurance like you have for example in with Medicare in Australia or the NHS in the UK. Although it is mandatory to have a base level health insurance, you are free to choose the insurance provider you feel most comfortable with. The basic level (Grundversicherung) insurance is predefined by the Swiss government and the level of coverage is the same with all the insurance providers.
